SUMMARY

 

Work independently and with others in assigned buildings, including collaboration with regular education teachers.  Provide individual and small group instruction in a manner that is understandable to assigned gifted students in accordance with the required curriculum. Comply with Chapter 16 regulations to fulfill the Gifted Individualized Education Plan (GIEP) requirements for all students on caseload.

 

  

QUALIFICATIONS

 

Certification:

 

Must have an Elementary Certification and previous experience in a Gifted Program is preferred.

 

Knowledge and Skills:

 

Must have experience as a teacher and demonstrate the ability to create a flexible elementary/secondary enrichment program and a class environment favorable to developing optimal growth; to enhance leadership skills and establish effective rapport with pupils; to motivate pupils to develop analytical, syntactical, and problem-solving skills, in accordance with each pupil’s ability.

  

 

Abilities:

 

Assess and evaluate students.  Knowledge of general and specific subject matter.  Ability to communicate clearly with students, parents and other District employees.  Think creatively and solves problems.  Skills required include listening, oral and written communications, organization and teaching.  Demonstrate talent in the instruction of students with varied styles and levels of mastery.

 

 

Pay Rate: $56,083-$90,959 (based on highest earned degree and years of experience)
