SUMMARY

 

The Benefits Specialist is responsible for aiding in the administration of all district related leave of absence requests and offered benefit programs for all employees.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

Knowledge and Skills: Demonstrated proficiency in computer programs.  Must be independent thinking.  Must be able to handle personal, confidential, HIPAA related, and information used in collective bargaining.  The ability to work cooperatively with others and to take instruction.  Excellent oral and written communications and human relations skills.

 

Abilities:  An ability to handle confidential matters, set priorities, work well under pressure, with an attention to detail, and self- motivated; excellent organization ability and excellent oral and written communications and human relations skills. PC skills - all Microsoft and Google applications, Zoom, Teams, and District applications. Must have analytical and problem solving skills; be flexible and have outstanding interpersonal skills.  Ability to plan and organize work.

 

Education and Experience:  A degree in business related field is preferred. Should have at least three years’ experience in human resources, specifically within employee benefits plans.  Other combinations of applicable education, training and experience which provide the knowledge, abilities and skills necessary to perform effectively in the position may be considered.
